Outpatient Mental Health Treatment
A lot of the women who call us thought they weren't bad enough to need help. You don't have to be in crisis to deserve support.
"I've been exhausted for months. I can't focus. I keep spacing out in class or breaking down at random moments. My grades are slipping but I keep telling everyone I'm fine. I don't even know how to explain what's wrong."
"I've been to the counseling center. The waitlist was six weeks. Then I got a 30-minute appointment. It wasn't enough. I'm not safe in my own head and I need something that actually helps."
"From the outside, everything looks fine. But I cried in the bathroom before my last midterm and I haven't slept more than four hours in weeks. I can feel myself breaking and I can't let anyone see it."
If any of this sounds like you — even a little — Sol was built for exactly this moment.
10 minutes from UC Riverside campus. Accessible from across the Inland Empire.
Sol offers two levels of care for women who need more than weekly therapy — but don't need to check in overnight. Both programs are all-female and designed to fit around school and work schedules.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
IOP is designed for women who are ready to return to work, school, or daily responsibilities while continuing treatment. With flexible group schedules — typically three to five days per week — IOP integrates evidence-based practices and trauma recovery tools to ensure lasting progress. Individual therapy, group sessions, and psychiatric care are all included.
IOP may be right for you if:
Individual Therapy
Small Group Sessions
Psychiatry and Medication Management
Case Management
School Accommodations
If you're an active UC student, your UC-SHIP policy covers Sol's PHP and IOP programs — often at no out-of-pocket cost. UC-SHIP is administered through Anthem Blue Cross and includes mental health and outpatient behavioral health benefits for all enrolled students. Coverage typically stays active as long as you are a registered student, even if you need to take a medical leave of absence for mental health reasons.

Call us at (888) 785-1770 or tap 'Verify Insurance' below. Our admissions team will reach out within the hour during business hours.

We'll discuss the challenges you're having and share how our program can help. It's a conversation, not an interrogation.

Once insurance is confirmed, you can start on your own schedule.
Worried About Your Student Status?
If your mental health requires a medical leave of absence, you may be able to maintain your UC-SHIP coverage while you're away — as long as you plan to return. Our case managers are experienced in navigating leave-of-absence requests and can help you understand your options. You shouldn't have to choose between your health and your education.

All-Female, All the Time
Sol is an exclusively female program. Every clinician, every group, every interaction. For women who have experienced trauma or feel guarded in mixed-gender spaces, this matters.

Small by Design
Groups are never larger than 10. You won't get lost here — you'll be known by name.

Trauma-Informed and Evidence-Based
Our clinical model includes EMDR, DBT, CBT, somatic therapy, and mindfulness. Every treatment plan is customized — not one-size-fits-all.

Near Your Campus
Located in Riverside, CA — close to UC Riverside and accessible from across the Inland Empire and Southern California. Supportive housing is available within 10 minutes of our center if you need it.

Treatment That Fits Your Schedule
IOP is designed to flex around your class schedule. PHP runs 10:30am–3:30pm Monday through Friday. Many clients continue attending classes on reduced schedules while in treatment.

Expert Clinical Leadership
Our Clinical Director, Tania Acevedo, MA, LPCC, has over 10 years of experience in behavioral health, case management, and trauma-focused therapy. She built Sol to be the program she wished existed.
Posted on Google Brittany BillingsleyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I was a patient at SOL since November 12th, 2024. In the beginning, I thought the program was great and it did help me grow in some ways. BEWARE of going here. There are much better treatment facilities such as Pacific Grove outpatient down the street and Loma Linda’s Outpatient is incredible! The owner and his wife run the place. Steve has no background in the medical field. He only cares about getting money from your insurance and for a $4,000 a day program you can get much better care elsewhere. He told me when my insurance wouldn’t pay that they have seen the progress I made and decided to let me continue for free because my insurance wasn’t covering more time. He said, “he wanted to see me graduate.”I thought that was very nice but quickly learned how fake he was. Matisak is the only great therapist there trained in CBT and DBT therapy but she only comes a couple times a week. We spend our time mainly doing check-ins and talking and laughing about things which can be good, but I was there to grow my mind, stay sober (happy to say I have 110 days of sobriety under my belt now), and truly learn great coping skills to help me function in society. They are not accredited by any means whatsoever which is a red flag in itself. I put my ALL into this program. Sadly, I don’t believe they are equipped to handle people with mental health needs. We repeat the same things over and over again and do classes that really don’t help with disorders such as many games where you don’t learn about yourself or issues. Yesterday, I had an episode at the program. I did not threaten anyone there, only vented about my struggles with medications and night terrors that were causing me to feel a bit suicidal. And this was my first time ever being really upset during program hours. This morning I went in positive and hopeful for medication changes to help me continue succeeding in life. They prefer us to see a psych and get on many meds to help us feel better. Mine started not working so well. Note, they are mainly supposed to help with medication management as being a part hospitalization program. After being told by Steven and Jenni to come into the office with them, they said I needed to come 5 days a week instead of the 3 days a week (lower level of care I was on). I did 5 days a week for months in the beginning. Anyways, I proceeded to tell them my work schedule wouldn’t allow for that. They said that would not work for them. I finally agreed to 5 days a week. Then they replied, your insurance won’t cover it. We are discharging you right now without letting me see the psych one last time or finish out my last day there. I replied that I wanted to say bye to the friends I made and to one of the therapists there and they replied no and that they needed me off the premises right away. I’m not sure what happened as before they were willing to pay my way to continue and graduate. My heart is broken. I feel like a piece of trash that was thrown out and all the care they said they had for me was thrown out the window. Please save yourself from any of this happening to you and choose somewhere that actually cares about the wellbeing of their patients. I will be filing a law suit against them as well. This was my experience and I hope it helps you choose the best place to start or finish your recovery journey. Thank you for your time in reading this. Take care everyone out there. Update April 2026: I am still experiencing trauma and suffering from what I went through at SOL. They attempted to change their name and have posted many fake reviews on here since my post about a year ago. You can tell because the wording is almost the same in each review and they are not people that have written other reviews. Please be careful attending here. It is very easy to create a fake email address and create fake reviews to try to boost a business. My experience was real and how they treat people is fake and not right. I’m so damaged and will never be the same after SOL lied to me. Thank you for reading. I hope you all get the proper mental help you need.Posted on Google Marina gonzalesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I will forever be grateful to Sol Women’s Treatment for changing my life in ways I never thought were possible. Walking through those doors was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made, but it turned out to be the most life-changing and beautiful one. The therapists there are truly incredible, they are truly ANGELS on earth. They are compassionate, patient, and deeply dedicated. They created a safe space where I felt seen, heard, and understood during a time when I needed it the most. Their guidance helped me find strength within myself that I didn’t even know I had. One of the most special parts of my journey was the connection I built with the women in group therapy. What started as shared vulnerability turned into genuine friendships. We supported each other, lifted each other up, and created bonds that I will carry with me forever. This place didn’t just help me heal, it helped me rediscover who I am and gave me hope again. Sol Women’s Treatment truly saved my life, and for that, I am endlessly thankful.Posted on Google Jessica ATrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Sol Womens Treatment provided a structured clinical environment that was instrumental in addressing my Depression and Anxiety last year. As a 21-year-old UCR student, the intersection of academic stressors and these clinical conditions had resulted in significant functional impairment, including social withdrawal and a decline in executive functioning. The facility’s emphasis on evidence-based modalities, specifically Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), facilitated the development of robust self-regulation strategies. The gender-specific setting provided a necessary level of psychological safety, allowing for the exploration of symptom triggers within a supportive peer group. The clinical staff demonstrated a high level of competency in managing acute anxiety symptoms and persistent depressive affect. I have experienced a stabilization of mood and feel prepared to resume my academic curriculum with an enhanced toolkit for maintaining mental health.Posted on Google Vanessa ValdezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am so grateful for my time at Sol in Riverside. The program was exactly what I needed at a tough time in my life. I originally am from Rancho Cucamonga, and I was unsure and anxious about what to expect (this was my first experience with treatment). From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed into a beautiful, supportive housing environment that felt safe and peaceful. At the supportive housing, the house managers were always available and attentive and showed me how to live a sober and fulfilling life. All the staff at Sol, but especially Jenni and Ma’atisak, were incredibly caring and genuinely invested in my recovery. They supported me every step of the way and helped create a trusting environment where I felt heard and understood. I received EMDR therapy for trauma from Fabiola, which was a completely new experience for me- but it made a profound difference in my healing journey. The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Sol are a step up from regular outpatient therapy, offering more structure and support without feeling overwhelming. The coordination between individual therapy, group sessions, and psychiatry was seamless. It was the exact combination of care I needed. Every aspect of the program was thoughtfully organized to address my unique needs. The supportive community, compassionate staff, and comprehensive treatment approach gave me the foundation I needed to move forward in my life. I highly recommend Sol to anyone seeking a safe and effective place to heal.Posted on Google Briana GonzalezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This program really helped me when I was at my lowest. My depression was deep and with all my past therapist were not working for me I was losing hope that I would never change. "As the parent of a 25-year-old daughter who had just completed inpatient trauma treatment, I was deeply concerned about her next steps. Sol's intensive outpatient program provided the structure and clinical expertise she needed without pulling her away from her education. The environment at Sol is warm and welcoming. It doesn't feel clinical or cold—she often mentioned how the space itself helped her relax and feel safe."

Yes — active UC students are typically covered for Sol’s PHP and IOP programs through UC-SHIP (administered by Anthem Blue Cross), often with no out-of-pocket cost. You will need a referral from your campus Student Health Services before beginning. We help you get that referral — it’s a straightforward process and our admissions team guides you through it. For UC Riverside students, more information is available at studenthealth.ucr.edu/ucship.
Most PPO plans — including Anthem, Blue Shield, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare — include outpatient mental health benefits. If you’re under 26 and still on a parent’s plan, you’re likely covered. We verify your benefits for free, with no commitment required, before you decide anything.
Not necessarily. Many IOP clients continue attending classes on a reduced schedule. If your symptoms do require a medical leave, we can help you navigate that process — and in most cases, your UC-SHIP coverage remains active during leave as long as you plan to return. Your health and your education are not opposites.
After a 30-minute intake call and same-day insurance verification, most clients start within 24 to 48 hours. In many cases, you can begin the very next day.
PHP runs Monday through Friday, 10:30am–3:30pm. IOP is three to five days per week with more scheduling flexibility. Both programs include group therapy, individual therapy, case management, and nursing check-ins. PHP clients receive weekly psychiatry; IOP clients receive psychiatry as needed. Groups are never larger than 10 clients per facilitator.
Yes. Every client, every clinician, every group at Sol is female-identified. Many of our clients have trauma histories or have felt unsafe in mixed-gender therapeutic environments. We built Sol to be different.
A weekly 45-minute therapy session is very different from PHP or IOP. Our programs offer daily clinical contact, multiple treatment modalities — EMDR, DBT, somatic therapy, group work — and a consistent therapeutic community. Most clients who come to us after standard outpatient therapy find the intensity and consistency of our program to be what actually moves the needle.
Yes. Your health information is protected under HIPAA. We do not contact your school, your family, or anyone else without your explicit consent — with standard safety exceptions. What you share in treatment stays in treatment.

Getting help shouldn't be complicated. Our admissions team will verify your insurance benefits at no cost and explain your coverage in plain language. We work with most PPO and HMO plans and can explore single-case agreements if needed.
